TEXAS!

Hi Everyone,

I'm still in Port Arthur, TX helping to clean up the oil spill (read about it here).  While I am NOT cleaning up birdies or other waterfowl, I do spend most of my days out on a small boat checking for oily patches and making sure that the previously observed ones had been cleaned up.  I also make sure that if we spot any oily patches - they are attended to immediately.

It's been early mornings and late nights (I never knew I could get used to getting up at 5:30am!) so, I don't get to talk to too many people not here - including email, Facebook or blogger.  So, please pardon my absence.

It is really interesting out here and I feel like I am learning so much.  In fact, I think I learned more about the industry in these past 6 days than I have the 5 years I have been working with my company!  Despite the long hours, I am truly glad that I am getting a chance to have this opportunity.

Okay - time to scavange for breakfast.  I will (hopefully) post some photos soon!

Enjoy your day.

-E

How wonderful that you are able to make a difference in Texas.
Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish when you are put into a situation where you MUST perform?

Whoa...way to go Erin. It sounds very interesting and something you will remember forever. Have you ever done this before? Are you on a boat or on land?
